Growing in our faith is a priority here at First Church, growth that includes both children and adults. Christian formation, as old as the Gospel itself, is an ongoing, lifelong process, as the baptized learn and re-learn what it means to be a disciple of Christ, who teaches our world a whole new way of living and experiencing life.
Beginning with Church School, which meets in our Parish House every Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m., our children are introduced to the Christian story creatively through games, an age-sensitive curriculum and stimulating conversation.
For adults, we hold the Brown Bag Bible Study, which meets every Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The first half-hour we share a meal as well as our lives together. We then begin our lively, informative discussion of Scripture. It is a time of discovery as we unearth the often hidden (and often misunderstood) meanings of this foundational Church document.
All in all, we strive to make relevant the meaning of the Gospel not just in the classroom, but in worship as well as the everyday doings of our varied ministries.
