We plan to re-open our sanctuary for Sunday worship and our Parish House for Sunday School, beginning on October 11th at 10:30 am.
We will limit our attendance (including participant and deacons) to 50, as we did for our 40-minute outdoor services, in order to safely accommodate everyone. So, starting every Monday and no later than the following Thursday at noon, please reserve a space with Gail. This is a requirement every week. If we have already reached our maximum of 50, your name will be placed on a wait list; we will later contact you only if we have a space that week. If we do not have a space, we will place your name first for the following week.
Please stay at home if you are ill and/or register a temperature on your thermometer.
If you are able to join us, please mask, distance at 6 feet, enter only by the church front entrance no later than 10:25 am, then exit only by the back, left door (near the cemetery). In the narthex (entryway), the deacons will offer you hand-sanitizer, check-off your name on the reservations list, (take your forehead temperature if you are new to us), and point to the table with the offering plate and bulletins. In the sanctuary, the deacons will take responsibility for seating you properly; please do not ask for a particular seat. Parishioners in wheelchairs and with walkers or mobility issues are encouraged to come to church as early as 10:10 am in order to be settled in designated spots.
The church windows and doors will remain open for air circulation, as long as the weather permits. So, do dress warmly.
Please wear your mask throughout the service. At the end of the service, the pastor and lector will leave the sanctuary by the back door; after which a deacon will direct your exit by that same door, starting with those on the right aisle (closest to the door), the right of the center aisle, left center, and left aisle. Kindly return to your car rather than linger. (The Elliot Room lavatory will be available, best used before or after the service by way of the outside steps. There is an electronic hand-sanitizer nearby.)
Our Sunday School will meet from 10:30-11:20 am in the Parish House. The children will be asked to go directly to the Parish House (not sanctuary), be masked, sanitize their hands, and sit at different card tables with their own baskets with supplies. (See this week’s photo.) Please register with Shirley Mashoke, Chair of Christian Education, so we can prepare properly.
Do not hesitate to let me or our lead deacons, DeeDee Dyer and Lynn Carver, know if you have any questions or concerns. We are grateful to God to be able to be together at this time. Let us continue to remain patient, vigilant, and faith-filled.
